WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT V1’s EURO MODE

Certain V1 features are intended to warn of radar bands used elsewhere in the world but not in the U.S. They are not activated at the factory. For instructions on activation, go to Tech Report #3: How to reprogram V1.

Euro Mode and Ku Band are separate features and require separate activation.

Euro Mode narrows and intensifies V1’s radar coverage to the frequencies used in Europe and some other countries for photo radar. Once Euro Mode has been activated, the user may add Ku and X band as needed for a specific country.

While Euro Mode covers all of K band, the coverage of Ka differs slightly for different versions of V1. Units with software versions* between 3.821 and 3.863 cover the following slices of Ka band:

33.70 – 33.90 GHz
33.96 – 34.04 GHz
34.16 – 34.44 GHz
34.56 – 34.64 GHz

Units with software versions* between 3.864 and 3.872 cover the following Ka-band frequencies:

33.70 – 33.90 GHz
33.90 – 34.10 GHz
34.16 – 34.44 GHz
34.56 – 34.64 GHz

Units with software versions* 3.890 and higher cover the following Ka-band frequencies:

33.70 – 33.90 GHz
33.90 – 34.11 GHz
34.18 – 34.48 GHz
34.56 – 34.65 GHz
35.45 – 35.55 GHz

To add X-band and Ku-band coverage to Euro Mode, go to Tech Report #3 for instructions.

When Euro Mode has been activated, upon power up you will see the sequence "E," "u," "r" appear in the Bogey Counter. When the power-up sequence is complete, the Bogey Counter will show either "U" or "u." Pressing the Control Knob will toggle between them.

Select "U" to enable both K and Ka (Photo) bands. Select "u" to enable only Ka band.
