January 2008: Getting Serious, Finally

I have owned my V1 for four years and it’s the best investment I have ever made.

Two years ago my nephew asked me about radar detectors. Naturally I suggested V1. He lives in rural Nebraska where there is not much between towns but far-off horizons. He was a student at the time traveling back and forth to college, and getting pulled over was a serious threat. Some time after our conversation, he called me to say that he had checked around and decided against V1; it would be Passport 8500 instead. I begged him not to do this, but he knew better.

Well, after two tickets he decided that maybe I was right and he should have been wearing a V1 on his windshield instead of a Passport. He is now trying to talk his soon-to-be-wife into letting him register a special item on their wedding-gift list…a new V1.
