Valentine One Radar Detector Moment of the Month
June 2006: Taking Casualties in Ohio, Heavy Casualties
So I'm traveling through Ohio
on I-80, caravanning with five other friends, all headed to a student
car competition outside Detroit. I've just installed my Valentine One.
I'm coming down a hill and all of a sudden I get a laser warning. Scares
the pants off of me.
Duck into the right lane,
see the cruiser in the median, and make it past. Whew.
At the next rest stop I learn
that the guy behind me, with his Passport 8500, went by the same place
about five minutes behind me, but his laser warning didn't go off. Sure
enough, he got pulled over.
Of the five of us, on a five-hour
trip, three people got tickets. The two of us who didn't were the rental-truck
driver and the V1 owner.
