Avoid “Smart Cords” with V1Gen2
Performance of V1 Gen2 is severely compromised when powered by a “Smart Cord” lighter adapter or “Smart Cord” direct-wire adapter from Escort or Beltronics.
We’ve observed these problems in our testing:
- Reduced sensitivity on all radar alerts.
- Drastically stretched-out decay of current radar alerts.
It’s easy to be misled on this issue because V1 Gen2 will seem to power up and perform normally when used with those power sources. In fact, V1 Gen2 usefulness will diminish and annoyance will increase substantially.
